Open Water Wild Swimming Introduction and Safety Courses 2018.
The SHAC are on a mission this year to get more people swimming in open water this year including junior swimmers. With Safety around water as our first priority we are running our New Aqua Safe Courses for both Junior Swimmers (8yrs - 14yrs old) and Adults new to open water wild swimming.
Junior Swimming Courses
All swimmers under the age of 14 will be required to complete The AquaSafe introduction to open water swimming course to be able to attend open and family swim sessions. This is a 5 hour course and contains elements of water rescue and safety, confidence in open water, stroke technique, first aid and swimmer awareness. The participants will receive the Aqua Safe Competence in Open Water Swimming and Safety Certificate once the course has been completed. Any junior swimmer holding this certificate can then swim in our family and junior swim sessions on Friday Evenings and Sunday Mornings at a reduced rate of £5.00 per junior swimmer.
Adult Introduction to Open Water Wild Swimming Courses.
The AquaSafe Introduction To Open Water Wild Swimming Course has been designed for adults new to open water swimming or those that have confidence issues when swimming in open water. It is a 2 hour course run over 2 sessions that will give you the skills and confidence to then join any SHAC open water wild swimming session. Our first course is running on Sunday 13th May and Sunday 20th May from 8am - 9am. The Cost of this course is £50.00 Please click here to register your details.

If you are looking to improve your swimming technique and stamina in open water, participating in your first triathlon or swim run event and want to improve your swimming discipline for the big day or simply wish to gain confidence, fitness, technique and stamina in your swimming then The SHAC now offer Open Water swimming lessons for both adults and junior swimmers on a 1:1 basis.
